popularity mode suggestion
I have a little beef w/ the pop. mode methods. I keep my mp3's backed up on cd's, but I don't back them up right away. Since the pop.
mode embeds it's pop. info into the individual songs' idx tags, my backed up files will restore old popularity info into the system along
with the songs. This is bothersome, especially since I would like to backup these files in a "neutral" status. The only way to clear this
data out of the mp3's is to remove the idx tags and recreate them (that I have found.)
Why can't the popularity info reside within the "DB" file instead of the actual files? If this may interfere with the network methods
of this program, then perhaps we could get an option to select which method of pop. data storage we prefer for our system.
Hope you follow....

| They did it this way so that when you rebuild the database, you don't lose the popularity info. Rebuilding the database is
usually the fastest way to get in sync after you have reorganized your (HD-based) MP3 collection, i.e. moved or renamed files.Quote: |

| That would of course make everyone happy and be a good solution!
