eJukebox freezes my PC in certain circumstances
Audiosoft,
Each time I add new mp3s to eJukebox my PC suffers a serious slowing down issue:
- During 10 minutes my whole system stays 99% FROZEN. I can't use my PC anymore, all is blocked! There is just the hard
drive which is scratching a lot.. I think it is making some kind of memory swapping?
- Note that these 10 minutes of freezing don't vary depending I add only ONE mp3, a album or 5000 mp3s!
- The freezing always occurs between the end of the folders scanning process and the beginning of the files importation. Then eJ continues to
import the following files very quickly without freezing the system anymore.
A similar "10 minutes of freezing" and high HD activity also occurs each time I remove a folder from the database.
My system also partially freezes each time I close eJukebox: the famous "database compacting...". This process is really too long!
I could not tell from which eJukebox version the problem started, but I remember that since eJ v4.65 the "add new files to database" process was
very fast.. It's still very fast, except these unavoidable 10 minutes of 99% freezing! If you rebuild the entire database 10 minutes of freezing can be acceptable (even if any system freezing is never very reassuring!), but
when you just want to add a album it's unacceptable and totally unjustified for only about twelve new mp3s!?
Could you fix these freezing issues?
Note that eJukebox is the only program which freezes my PC. For example, in Photoshop if a operation on a very large image is quite long, that can
take a few time but Photoshop never freezes my PC or any other running application!
Thanks.
(My PC: Vista, RAM 1Gb, HD 500Gb, CPU Intel Core 2 duo 1,86Ghz, and a large database..)
