Vista and my license
Greetings Audiosoft!
As a computer nerd I am moving to Vista. eJ works fine under Vista, but I can't make it take my license. I went to the page on the Vista machine,
revoked my old license and then installed it on the Vista machine. Next time I started eJ it still is unregistered. I again went to the reg page and
was told I had already used the license and I had to wait thirty days. Yet the machine still says I need to register.
Any ideas? Some kind of security issue?
Vista Home Premium..
Thanks
Don

Run as Administrator
On Vista you will need to right click the eJukebox shortcut and select "Run as Administrator"...then click 'Register' on the eJukebox About
Dialog. After you complete registration you can then run eJukebox normal the next time without the admin rights and it will remember your registration
status.
BTW... I have been running Vista since yesterday and eJukebox is running good. My eJukebox registration is still locked in after multiple restarts.
The only thing I needed to do on Vista after running the eJukebox full install was update the IE7 "allow status bar updates via script" security
option to gain full eJukebox functionality.
Vista uses more CPU because of all the new graphical enhancements ... you need allot of RAM, CPU and GPU horsepower. Vista's Aero interface takes a
little getting used to but overall feels responsive and has some cool features. Using Start+Tab to cycle the open programs in 3D is cool. There are
drawbacks such as the excessive warning messages. I got 4 popup warnings when i tried to create a new folder! Overall I am enjoying the new alpha
blended aero interface and sidebar and glad eJukebox v4.2 installs and can run on Vista correctly.
Dyno Don,
I will get back into XP later tonight and fix your account so you can register again. Just make sure you 'run as adminstrator' eJukebox this time
when you go to register on Vista.

I thought I was the administrator on that box. I will try it later tonight. Thanks alot. Great quick response! I upgraded the whole thing with a x2
athlon and faster video. I thought I was in real trouble as the jukebox is the main app and if I couldn't run it, I was hosed, I would have to go
back to XP.
I cannot make the video and the audio jukeboxes keep from "crossing their streams" with songs finding there way into both. I think I have a
solution, I made a new user and that account keeps it's setting and songs separate from the main user.
Also, don't worry about making eJ import videos, it would help, but as they have no tags, I would have to rebuild each files info one at a time. I
just keep ej well backed up on the video side.
Cheers,
Don

OK Don, your license account has been reset. Even if you are the administrator; Vista still needs you to right click the eJukebox shortcut and select
Run as Administrator when you go to Register. Also, I am not sure what will happen to the license with multiple vista user accounts. If there is a
problem I will have it fixed for the next version of eJukebox.
