compilation issues
How does eJUKEBOX determine when an mp3 belongs to a compilation disk? Most of my compilation disks display in the album list as the artists album not
as a compilation album. When I rip a CD the tag usually has the artist name , track name, album name, track #, genre, year recorded. I have changed
the artist name to match the actual artist not the compilations "various artist" tag.

Answered it online
I found the answer thru a search. I will post it here

eJukebox definitely already saves the compilation flag, as you can see with a good MP3 Tag program.
It writes to each MP3 file you edit inside eJukebox an ID3V2 tag called "User Text" which is filled with "asncomp=1". If you rebuild the database,
it will read back this info. |

tag question
I thought the quote from Demnos had all my answers but now I have new questions. I use ID3-Tagit which shows most all tags I looked at the only
compilation album I have and don't see an asncomp tag. Anyone have a suggestion where to look in ID3-Tagit or use another free tool that would allow
me to find all the albums and tag them with the asncomp tag. Doing it thru eJUKEBOX would be time consuming since I have the files in the artists
directory not the albums.

The "good MP3 Tag program" Demnos is (was) speaking about is Mp3/Tag Studio. It's the only program (that I know) which can display and edit the
Audiosoft "asncomp" tag.
I don't know ID3-Tagit.. Personally I use Tag&Rename which unfortunately cannot edit the Audiosoft compilation tag (even if in the last beta they
have added a compilation column). I edit all my tags using T&R before to import them in eJ. Then once in eJ when you see a album which should be
a compilation you just need to put the compilation mark for ONE song per compilation.. The other songs of this compilation will be marked
automatically!
NB: The album covers you add with Tag&Rename are compatible with eJukebox! I don't know the others tag editors?

Is it can be a slow process for eJukebox to set all the tags to compilations...however it does not require much work on the users part if the album
name is already the same on all the tracks. Just open a song from the album in the ejukebox song editor and check the compilation checkbox. eJukebox
will then setup all tags for the songs with the same album name to be compilation...which may take awhile but it will do it all for you.
The easiest solution for setting up a customized compilation would be to create a playlist or bookmark with all the songs you want which then shows up
on the tools menu so that you can view the song listing or use it in the AutoPlay mode.
