Album Info cut off
This is an old one. I keep thinkinig it will go away with the latest release, but no.
In the now playing window, the name of the album can be covered by the play controls. This is far far worse with 4.04 and the GIANT controls. (You
guys must have dinky monitors On mine the play button is almost the
size of a US dime!) If either the artist or song title is a bit long it pushes the album cover lower and pushes the album text below trhe controls.
Can that be fixed?
How do you post screenshots here? I have no URL to put in the box.
Thanks, Don

I agree. Also the play controls tend to cover parts of the song progress indicator. It should by the way, be possible to implement a larger song
progress indicator in skins as well. It is difficult to hit that small thing.

Dyno Don,
Actually a dinky monitor is what causes this to happen. If you run eJukebox at 1152x864 or 1280x1024 it is not a problem. I will see what I can do
about extending the now playing panel height when using lower resolutions so that the album title is not covered. You can disable the large play
controls until then under display options if you want.
Fishy,
I will be making the progress bar slider bigger pretty soon. Until then you can hold down the << and >> buttons to reverse and fastforward
if it is to small to click on the progress bar.

Thanks Actually an idea could be to make it possible to jump in a song by
clicking the area underneith the indicator. That is in the area where the current/remaing number is located. As far as I can see this area is not used
for anything yet, so clicking in it could bring the user to the desired location in a specific song. Then you don't have to make the indicator that
much larger, which in turn will save valuable space in the now playing panel.

It cuts off the album title WITHOUT the big controls, just more so with them. It definitly has to do with long titles. If they wrap, they push the art
down which pushes the text.
Funny, I am running a 26 inch monitor for eJ. You would think that would be enough, but it is limited to 1024. There's the problem, eh?
I will look into that.
Thanks

I agree Dyno Don!
Audiosoft,
The problem is that with BIG FONTS the now playing window height is not increased according to the .artist, .songtitle and .albumtitle real height
values.
I think that would be great if we could specify in the nowplaying.dis file the height we want for each line, ie:
.artist { line-height: 25px; }
.songtitle { line-height: 20px; }
.albumtitle { line-height: 30px; }
Maybe you could use these 3 "line-height" values (or the css Height tag instead?) to increase the NP window height efficiently? So nothing would
neither be cut off!
Dyno Don,
Normally LONG titles should scroll on one line! Maybe the scrolling values are not adjusted correctly in your nowplaying.dis file?
To adjust the values:
- Resize your NP pannel to the MINIMUM width
- Count the exact number of caracters for each line (including spaces and free spaces as caracters!)
- Report the values at the end of your dis file.
That's all!

It's a problem in the arctic skin. The slider there is way overdue for change anyhow. It does not look good in its current state. It looks like it is
a problem at the very center in your skin too. When will you upload your skin by the way? Looks neat. Why not upload it and add additional updates to
the zip file?

You are right Fishy, that is too cramped. I just wanted to tease you, a little..
My skin? Well.. I change things all the time. I think it is great when I've just make it, but the next morning I feel it looks ugly! I chosen to make it in red. I'm not sure that was a so good idea. I labour to
combine colors.. So it's never finished. Sure, I could have posted skins in dozens, but none really good. Currently I work on 2 versions: one bright
for the daytime, another dark for the night! Maybe that will be the solution!!
Otherwise, about skins.. I think the MS buttons are not suited for the Arctic skin! That would be great if Junk could update your skin. I mean with a
"Arctic" feeling, like only Junk can do it: Just a few drawings to make, between 2 cold drinks!!

I didn't know you could edit those files!?!?! Sure enough, mine was set to 9999 by default! No scrolling! I have that fixed now! Thanks! But the
Album cover still covers the album title. Is there a place to set album cover size or whether it covers the album name text?
Thanks again! I can't believe that scrolling was possible and I didn't have it on!!

Great! The scrolling exists since 2 years at least..
Concerning the album image that covers the text.. It's not possible yet, but I hope Audiosoft will fix that soon: It seems he his working on it,
finally!

So that happens to all? Fine, then. Here I was looking for a higher res monitor to get them.
You say two years? Why is it off by default? Seems like a handy feature. Is there an option somewhere I didn't know about?
Thanks,
Don

You are right Dyno Don, I think since it only scroll text when necessary, the scrolling should be turned on by default - with the correct values - at
least in the official skins! Everybody can't know that is editable in the skin files..
Maybe it's not turned on because this feature remained bugged during a long time.. Until Audiosoft fixed it some day at my request! But it works good
since a relatively long time.
Also, I think the more usable values for the scrolling SPEED are:
Settings=WIDTH=100% DIRECTION=left BEHAVIOR=scroll SCROLLAMOUNT=5 SCROLLDELAY=150
PS: My scroll amount and delay values are set for very large fonts. Probably that with smaller fonts these values will not be optimal.. You need to
try values according to your own configuration.

Dyno Don,
Does it work good for you now, even for album names, or not?
You should see album names in all cases with the scrolling feature turned on.
The problem only occurs if you put some very large font sizes for the artist and song titles. But I don't think you have changed the "default" font
sizes in the nowplaying.dis file? So, that should work good for you in all cases!
PS: The scrolling feature has only been fixed since April 2006: http://www.audiosoft.net/forums/viewthread.php?tid=1469

I am going down to Slovenia this weekend and then back to Oslo a week later. Will visit Junk, who actually lives in our ugly capital. Maybe we will
spend a day or to with the Arctic skin during that time? Time will show.
Probably I will miss Trondheim when I get to Oslo, as I always do.

The scrolling is fixed. Now the title and artist scroll back and forth and don't word wrap. But the Album name is almost always obscured by the Album
cover. I run it at 1024x768. If I run it higher (which I can't with this monitor,) I can stretch out the now playing window until it fills half the
screen, then you can read the album cover. But we like a small now playing and upcoming pane with a full right pane with album list (not covers) in
Extended view. That is our favorite view.

That is curious, because if the album title scroll and that you don't use the large play controls, the album title should never be obscured by the
Album cover, even using the small view!
Could you post a screenshot? (Click the "Browse..." button at the bottom when you write your post to add the screenshot directly from your

Thanks.

Audiosoft quite a while back I mentioned cutting off album names that are unreasonably long to display by just ending with ... perhaps this could fix
the issue.

You are right rllercstr7, that could be a solution when the scolling is turned off.
Unless Audiosoft manage to automatically resize the NP window height when necessary, like currently for the songlist?
