even if the general aspect is perfectible, the last one in solid black is the more readable for color palette gradients.
in fact your original colors for colorpicker2 was great, just the slots which was too small. so i think a "zoom" on the palettes using a enlarged window would be sufficient.

like this better? made it wider so the palette squares are bigger than the old picker.

Audiosoft, i tried it with a Black Grid: it's way better! because the colors shades are more readable. :o
for the grid, maybe 1 pixel would be sufficient instead of 2.

funny :D i realized the 1px border around cells was creating a 2px border in between cells...so i fixed it. then i came to post it and you suggested it :o

this makes the cells 1x1px larger. the top palette cells are now 20px by 20px and the lower custom palette is 19px x 19px.

Thanks for this update with only 1 pixel between each slot!
so no Black grid? i say that because i really noticed that any color other than black for the grid contaminates the color slots, making them less pure. if the grid is black the empty slots can be in white.. maybe i nitpick but it's for a good cause! :D

you will need to clear any saved custom palette or it will show the old black

now when you double click a cell in the custom palette or the big palette it will switch to the color info tab

also you can click an empty white spot in the custom palette to select the cell and it will not switch the color to white unless you click the spot again when its already selected

other tweaks ;)

Black grid please!

I still think the color picker would be more functional with a grid in Black:

Thanks for the update.

you could also add the small slots for Negative color, like in colorpicker1..

Pirk i am confused - the grid is black. empty slots are white. what do you want black?

Click the > for the right side there are new options for the grid style
and Click the new Zoom button ! :o

Wow thanks for the new grid options! :o

However for me the Grid is still Grey not Black! :D
The 2 screenshots i posted above was edited in photoshop to show you how the grid is better in black...

so now it just miss you add a option to choose the grid solid color. ;)

Zoom

Audiosoft, your zoom is very powerful but you forget a 1 pixel Target in the zoom grid! so until now it is not very functional. I would prefer to make "surgical strikes"... well ok the target show up once clicked on the grid. no center but it works..

PS: in this screenshot ogling competition, you can note a color option for the grid! and also other interesting options.. :o
PS2: i think your mouse target is not ideal, i would prefer a little more simple target. i don't know if i not prefer the target of colorpicker 1 for its simplicity?

Thanks.

ok thanks a lot Audiosoft. now we can set a color for the grid very easily. great!
if i continue my hypercritic.. i would say the black grid (or any other color) have a unsightly top and left borders, too wide. i think borders of 1 pixel would be sufficient!

Thanks!

hypercritic.. you fixed the top and left borders, but now the bottom and right have clipped slots: 2 pixels to remove on each border!

PS: a small bug, in the css panel, you write color: hsla(15,100%,0%,0,25) this is not correct. the correct syntax is color: hsla(15,100%,0%,0.25)
and when you are at it, it should be the same problem with the rgba opacity.
PS2: if you could add the IExplorer 4+ palette in the same order than in colorpicker 1.

Thanks again.

Audiosoft, could you add again the RGB sliders? sometimes they are useful to finely adjust a color.

Thanks.

Pirk it already has rgb sliders when you click in the rgb box and then use the slider or mouse wheel

this fixes the right bottom edges and should fix the rgba hsla css for you. it was showing the decimal for me not the comma....must have been because of your localization setting.

also fixes the hsl boxes so they don't lose their hue and saturation when you use the lightness slider and hit black and white

RE PS2: if you could add the IExplorer 4+ palette in the same order than in colorpicker 1.

It is now the 2nd item on the Palette menu. that IE4+ order maps to an alphabetical list ie sienna, silver, skyblue, slateblue, slategray, snow.
maybe that would be better in a drop down box that sets the color based on the color name selected instead of just a palette.
see the start up color with this exe ;)

updated fonts...

Good idea Audiosoft, i'll make another crimson skin! :D Thank you for the IE4+ palette and menu.

ok now we have a single slider.. but i think it is less intuitive than before with separate sliders. well it's a new approach, with the instant gradient maybe it's not so bad in fact!

Request: could you deactivate the selected slot when the palette is changed?

Idea: maybe could you allow us to freely resize the colorpicker window?

hypercritic: maybe you could write the text using the negative color? or just black on white..

-Color Name select box now has a white background
-Fixed the #hex value was incorrect when alpha was set to 1-9 %
-Added Alpha transparency preview
-New live CSS Test Bed

--updated so background-image:url(songlistbg.png);
in the test bed works for your currently selected EJ skin folder when you run ColorPicker2.exe from your ejukebox.exe folder. otherwise images must be in the same folder as colorpicker2.exe

check above for new exe
now you can test with the skin's images code in the test bed
i think it is really just to play with fonts and testing filter and color codes. other than that not sure how useful the test bed really is.
in my estimation notepad is still best for editing .dis since you can copy and paste, re-size and have multiple open.

I like the idea of a skin editor

It would be a nice feature making it easier for a user to customize their eJukebox look and feel. They wouldn't be required to understand the underlying structure in eJukebox to create a new skin..

Do any other Jukebox programs offer this ability?

yep! but there are so much things to skin in ejukebox, so much possibilities... maybe a editor would be more restrictive than notepad? Anyway IE9 standards are welcome in EJ. I was dreaming of all these new features since i started to make skins: :)

:o beautiful design Pirk!

v5.34 is up with ColorPicker on the tools menu and IE9 Standards support via colors.ini

[IEStandardsMode]
Version=9

maybe Microsoft will give us text-shadow for Christmas :D
if not - IE9 still offers great improvements!
