Unfortunately I cheated and used an online translator. My french is limited to second year of high school level. I opted for physical education
instead of a language. Wish I could change that decision now mind you. It is only recently that Scottish schools have made a language compulsary until
year four of high school.
It is embarassing that my country expected others to learn english to communicate with us.

Instructions on the site say that you save them in the same directory as the download.

Pirk it doesn't matter - just extract it to the desktop - it is just one file that it extracts - then you need to run that to automatically install
the runtimes

OK Audiosoft... of course, sorry I'm a bit tired!
VWBUG, French language is not so established than English, so I think you can continue your sport!
Otherwise, I can't see any improvement since the runtime upgrade. Is it obligatory to restart my computer, Audiosoft?

Ok...the runtimes was a long shot.
So...I take it the latest ejukebox.exe attachment didn't fix it yet either?

Hey guys, are you having all the fun without me? Can't let you do that
Count me in: I Installed eJukebox 3.98 this morning and get the same thing as you!!!
Even though I am in Germany, my PC is running pure US Version W2K, zero localization (all regional options set to US). The problem must be somewhere
else.
Well, hope you don't fee so alone now.

Thanks demnos, it seems like it is going to be a difficult one to solve, as you can see from last nights posts.

Interesting observation:
When I start the 3.98 Full Installer (not the update) AND install into a fresh directory, the First-Time-Database builder initiates. Right after that
is done adding my MP3 files, I get a message box:
Run Time Error 339: Component comctl32.ocx or one of its dependencies not correctly registered or file is missing.
I did install the VB6 RUNTIME Update as Audiosoft recommended but I get the same message!
After the above, there is no way to get the same error message again, i.e. just starting eJukebox or overwriting the EXE files will not bring up the
message, the program just sits there on the initial flash screen. But when you repeat the procedure and do a full install to yet another new empty
directory, the error happens again!
Maybe this can help Audiosoft to pinpoint the problem?

UGHH! ME TOO!
I just downloaded the official 3.98 and getting the same problem as you guys!
I'm in California, so I don't think this has anything to do with physical location.

Woe is me....must have ejukebox...bring back e..juke........box..........ughhh!

Could one of you try to see if you get the same error message as me when installing the 3.98 Full Install into a brandnew directory?

Hi Demnos
So well... welcome to the club!
I've tried a new "first" install:
Yes you are right, I also have the same error message than you just after the first database build... And eJ terminates itself after that.

Great, at least it is not just me.
I have a feeling that this error message may really help Audiosoft to find the problem. Let's hope he has time to look into this soon. Maybe it is
simple thing such as a missing file or a wrong registry entry...

hmm yes. But it's still weird that it functions for someone at all then. Sure hope that audiosoft figures this out.

Problem FIXED!!
I've succeeded in running eJukebox 3.98!
It's easy! lol
...with the help of Demnos and a certain "Google":
I've just put the "comctl32.ocx" right!
Yes Demnos, the bug was explained in your error message...
You can fix the problem for you guys following these instructions:
http://www.ascentive.com/support/new/support_dll.phtml?dllname=COMCTL32.OCX
I've used the first solution, but I think the alternate method which only copy and register the comctl32.ocx file should be sufficient.
Thank you very much for your judicious remark Demnos!
NB: Personnally I think that night I've missed this error message box just because I was not in front of my PC just as the clean database building
was done... And to think that was one of my first tests with this bug...
But finally it's a happy end!!

It should...this is where the problem might be...
Start winamp first (and have it play a song) and keep it running and then start ejukebox and see what happens.
What version of winamp do you guys have installed? |
