A way to exit Kiosk Mode

Dear Audiosoft,

since you intend to market touchscreen PCs with eJukebox installed, I would like to know: How do you intend these systems to be powered down other than by pushing the POWER button, which is causing file corruption / endless SCANDISK runs on restart?

Basically, the problem is: there is no way to leave eJukebox Kiosk mode when you have no keyboard connected. This is a real problem on my living-room PC, where I don't want any keyboards lying around just to do a shutdown.

On a competing jukebox SW, you can leave Kiosk mode by pressing a certain area on the screen, which will then ask for the password by means of a virtual keyboard. The password itself is stored in a file on disk where an admin can change it, i.e. there is no need to define a password when enetering Kiosk mode.

So I would like to request the new feature: Allow Password Entry for Kiosk Mode by means of a virtual keyboard.

How do other users of eJukebox currently do this, by the way? Am I the only one without a keyboard?

We will be making the virtual keyboard appear for exiting Kiosk mode in the next version.

However, there is another way you may elect to use in order to avoid shutdown problems. If your system can...you may wish to enabled the Windows control panel's Advanced Power Option to HIBERNATE when you press the computer's power button. This will make it shutdown without any problems then quickly boot right back to where you left off when you power up.

Great, thanks for the info. While my system cannot "hibernate", it can at least "suspend to disk" or something, which has the same effect.

However, it is really great that you will allow password entry by virtual touchscreen because sometimes I don't want to shut down the system, but I do want to leave Kiosk mode for some other maintenance of the system, which is currently also not possible.
