Crimson Live 2.1 Skin
Here is my Crimson skin latest updates:
24/12/2009: (7th version! since the first EJ Crimson..)
Crimson7 skin is now available for download here: http://www.audiosoft.net/forums/viewthread.php?tid=2570
22/04/2008: (Version 3)
Crimson Live 3 is available for download here: http://www.audiosoft.net/forums/viewthread.php?tid=2325
07/11/2007: (Version 2.1)
-Improved the album transparent frames and their layout in the album list.. Works rather good for the 3 different album cover sizes available from the
albumlist menu!
-Added a new graphic for the Artist Header in the album list.
-"Standardised" the Artist names Font in the album list.
-Removed the albumlist cover frame variants..
22/10/2007: (Version 2)
-Improved the albumlist with Album FRAMES: Thanks Audiosoft for your tip on this great "hidden" feature! The skin includes 3 different frames:
Transparent White, Blue and Blue-White. Take a look at the following screenshots.. The skin default frame is the two-coloured but you can change the
frame colors just renaming the Albumlistscroll-xxx.dis files to Albumlistscroll.dis. -Audiosoft, maybe could you add a option in the albumlist
menu so that we can change the album frames from this menu, like for the albumlist background image?-
-Added nice (and real) Headphones graphic on top of the artistlist.
-"Subtle" changes in the songlists (better blending).
-New "No cover" images.
-New song Pop up graphic: Audiosoft amber style, but with my personal inclusions!
-Improved the mouse-over effect on the up next area and playlist numbers.
-Plus a few other small improvements on graphics that only a detective will see a difference.. Nevertheless it improves the skin global looking!
Enjoy!
Note: This skin requires Internet Explorer 7 for transparency effects.
To install: Download the attached zip file (do not extract) and save the file to C:\Program Files\eJukebox\Skins\Crimson Live 2.1.zip.
Then activate Crimson Live 2.1 on the Skins section of the "Tools" button menu at the top of eJukebox.
Attachment: Crimson_Live_2.1.zip (7.18mb)
This file has been downloaded 3218 times

Hi Pirk,
let me the first to say: Wow! This is really, really good work!
I like the new album view - And after writing this lines I take a look in the albumlistscroll to see how you do it.
Perhaps I can use it to improve the Blacklight-Skin - not the same way... I've got an idea - but I don't know if it's possible.
See U

Pirk,
Thank you for Crimson Live 2!
It is awesome! I love the 3D headphones! Also the new 'no cover' image and the other improvements! Especially the new album list!
One issue...I don't know why but that Hanzel font makes the album list scroll very very slow on my XP (even when you use the scrollbar or
mousewheel). You should probably replace that font under the artisttext in your albumlistscroll.dis files with a different font. I changed Hanzel to
calibri and it scrolls allot smoother. Any other font would be good.

Thanks guys, I'm glad you appreciate this update! I'm quite satisfied: this skin starts to come near my dreams..
Besides I advise you to PIN the song pop up because it also looks very good promoting eJukebox on your PC even when it is not on focus..
Hanzel font: It's a shame if this font don't work good for you Audiosoft. I will see if I can find another nice looking font which supports all the
non-english accents..

Medium covers
Since I've seen my new albumlist on the Audiosoft site (My Crimson skin rised the second place on the official screenshot page!), I've also tried to
use the medium covers.. Very nice indeed, my albumlist becomes even more attractive. The transparent frames embellish the album covers so nicely!
Thank you Audiosoft!

Hey pirk,
your album-list is a very, very good way to present it.
I've done a little experiment with the alpha-filter. If you want rapidly to slow down your computer you just have to insert
FILTER: Alpha(Opacity=100, FinishOpacity=0, Style=1, StartX=0, StartY=90, FinishX=0, FinishY=100)
Alpha(Opacity=100, FinishOpacity=0, Style=1, StartX=0, StartY=10, FinishX=0, FinishY=0)
Alpha(Opacity=100, FinishOpacity=0, Style=1, StartX=10, StartY=0, FinishX=0, FinishY=0)
Alpha(Opacity=100, FinishOpacity=0, Style=1, StartX=90, StartY=0, FinishX=100, FinishY=0)
Alpha(opacity=100, finishopacity=95, style=2) ;
.... in the "td"-"chapter" (or how do we call this?)
It look's great in my blacklight-skin but beats out my P4.

Hi mchawk,
Sure filters are very slow when you use them unwisely: In your example you have 5 filters applied on EACH songlist elements.. To much calculations for
any kind of processor! With a long songlist that becomes quite unusable. This is why I decided to use png transparency instead of filters in my skins.

RE: ...are these black lines I see supposed to be there?
Of course NO Audiosoft!! It works good for me: I DON'T have these black
lines or the other one in white on my PC with Vista!
Maybe there are some problems with my td and artistheader tags in the albumlistscroll.dis file on some other systems: These lines are supposed to be
Transparent borders... I've used these curious "transparent borders" as a trick to replace the margin property because margin seems to doesn't
work in td?! In fact I just would like to change the layout a bit.. so that each album background graphic is totally SEPARATE from the others. And
also each Artist is separate from the others..
Here are my current td and artistheader tags:
td {
border-left: 2px outset transparent;
border-right: 1px solid transparent;
border-top: 1px solid transparent;
border-bottom: 1px solid #C8BBC8;
padding-top: 14px;
padding-left: 9px;
padding-right: 6px;
padding-bottom: 0px;
background-color: transparent;
background-image: url(albumlisttd.png);
background-position: 100% 4px;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
}
.artistheader {
border: none;
border-top: 4px solid transparent;
border-bottom: 4px solid transparent;
background-color: transparent;
background-image: url(artistheader.png);
background-position: center;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
}

Transparent borders
Audiosoft,
I think I've found the explanation for "your" black lines issue: http://www.cssplay.co.uk/boxes/border_error . Moreover this site is very interesting!
I suppose that probably you don't tried my skin on IE7 ?
So, more than ever, my crimson skin needs IE7! Unless you can come up with a better solution to separate (vertically) the first row of albums??
Thanks
Pirk

Pirk I am using IE7. I will look into this more tonight. Remember whatever you put in td{} also gets applied to .artistheader{} unless you specify a
different value for it inside .artistheader to cancel it out.

OK what you should do is use height: 90px; inside the .artistheader{} instead of the 'transparent' borders to create the space between the header
and the albums. You can modify the '90' to increase/decrease the spacing.
Here is your albumscroll.dis file with the fix:
body {
scrollbar-face-color:#670002;
scrollbar-highlight-color:#B40000;
scrollbar-3dlight-color:#000000;
scrollbar-darkshadow-color:#000000;
scrollbar-shadow-color:#B40000;
scrollbar-arrow-color:#ECC977;
scrollbar-track-color:#080808;
}
table {
margin-right: 4px;
margin-bottom: -4px;
}
td {
border: 0px;
padding-top: 14px;
padding-left: 9px;
padding-right: 6px;
padding-bottom: 0px;
background: transparent;
background-image: url(albumlisttd.png);
background-position: 100% 4px;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
}
.artistheader {
height: 90px;
border: 0px;
background: transparent;
background-image: url(artistheader.png);
background-position: center;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
}
.artisttext {
color: #F5F5DC;
text-decoration: underline;
font-variant: small-caps;
FONT-SIZE: 17pt;
FONT-FAMILY: segoe ui, Arial, sans-serif;
font-weight: bold;
font-style: italic;
letter-spacing: 0px;
cursor: hand;
text-align: center;
line-height: 24px;
width: 508px;
padding-left: 73px;
padding-right: 73px;
padding-top: 10px;
padding-bottom: 6px;
filter: glow(color=#000000, strength=1)
dropshadow(color=#5E6690, offx=1, offy=1);
}
.albumtext {
color: #282828;
font-weight: normal;
font-size: 9pt;
font-family: segoe ui, calibri, Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif;
line-height: 14px;
height: 16px;
padding-top: 10px;
padding-bottom: 3px;
}

Thanks a lot Audiosoft. Indeed you are right, borders are useless in the artist header.. But you also removed all the borders in td! I used these
transparent borders to make a SPACE between each album of the FIRST ROW for each artist, because I think there is a bug in the HTML code -not in the
CSS!- that sticks together the first row of cells (cf my screenshot). What a shame, that damages the albumlist layout..
Could you fix this imperfection please?

salut Alpheratz13
