eJ Crimson Skin

After much perseverance I'm very glad to offer you my skin "eJ Crimson"! I hope you will love to use it. :)

NB: This skin produces some nice transparency effects designed for IE7. So IE7 is recommended so that you get the good-looking transparency effects in the 3 songlist styles available: Normal, Large and Xtra-Large. You just need to right click on the songlist to switch between the 3 sizes..
Internet Explorer 7 comes with Windows Vista, but you can also install it on Windows XP SP2 from here: Download IE7
eJ Crimson will also work good in IE6, but without the transparency effects.

To Install this Skin:
Save the attached eJ_Crimson.zip as C:\Program Files\eJukebox\Skins\eJ_Crimson.zip
Then click Tools -> Skin -> eJ_Crimson in eJukebox to use the skin.

Enjoy!

Skin UPDATED the 4th of March 2007 for eJukebox 4.3
I've also improved the transparency effects in the songlist.

And now a NEW VERSION, eJ Crimson 2 for eJukebox 4.5, is also available for download: HERE.

Attachment: eJ_Crimson.zip (3.66mb)

Thanks Pirk! Looks good. You mentioned 3 sizes of the songlist. Is one of them applied based on resolution or is it something that can be chosen?

rllercstr7, I'm happy you like my skin!

Concerning the 3 sizes songlist: you just need to right click on the songlist and select "Skin/Font Size" -> Normal, Large or Xtra Large in the menu.

eJ Crimson Skin UPDATE for eJukebox 4.3:

I've improved the transparency in the songlist.. and also updated some graphics of the artistlist in anticipation of the next eJukebox version 4.3!
You can already redownload my skin and try it now with the latest 4.3 Beta5 available in the forum.

Pirk,

How about using some PNGs in the artist list? Under Artistrow and Artistrow2. They would look and work really good if you make them transparent so that the highlight color shows.

One other thing I've noticed is that the home page is overwhelmingly red just like the one for the default skin has too much blue. If its possible you might try to change it up a bit but it looks as if everything on that page might only be solid colors, but I don't know. Hopefully we will have a new homepage soon anyways. Do you have any interest in working on it again Pirk?

Also I have been playing around with the images for the volume slider and star back. I had a little bit of trouble seeing the outline of the stars so I came up with this (I know it looks a little off center, but I had to do that to get it to display properly):

OK Audiosoft, I will try to improve the artistlist using png transparency effects..

Otherwise guys, I'm working on the Top and Header files.. Tell me what you think of the new "search" graphic?

Very cool search graphic!! :o
Mind if I borrow it? Think it could also look nice on the website and maybe in BlueJ. Can you post the cd image file?

rllercstr7,

Thanks for your graphics. Have you already tried to include them in my skin? So you could see how they look in real terms.. :)
Otherwise of course I also hope for a new Homepage, but it's a big piece..

Yes I went aheah and put them in and just replaced the files that were there. I also tested the star background at different resolutions/now playing widths to make sure it always displays correctly when the area is stretched or compacted and it works well. As I said the new background for the star background just makes the outlines really stand out since there is a lighter color around them now. I thought it looked pretty good and I tried to make it look like a little indented circular area to match the other parts of the skin that have the indent look. The silverish color can be changed really easilly as it is simply it own layer in photoshop if need be. Here is what the new background for the stars and volume slider look like in action:

rllercstr7, I've just tried your "editstarback" graphic: It looks pretty good in action! I think I'll adopt it. :)
Concerning your volume slider, I think the central track is a too massive to my taste..

Yeah I never really came up with anything too great when it comes to the slider. I think I could make one that looks a lot better if a png image was usable to make the edges rounded so its not so boxy. Thats why I made an effort to create some new volume controls that you saw earlier. Any chance ejukebox can look for volback.png?

I agree, a volback.png would fit more.. I hope that Audiosoft will allow it!

Great skin but it's impossible to use the track position slider control when it runs near the pause button

rlailey,

I'm glad you like my skin. Unfortunately currently it's impossible to separate the slider from the play buttons by means of any skin.. It would need Audiosoft update the Now Playing panel. We all hope for this update!

Well you could modify the playpause button's mask to make it not interfere with the slider. or you can hold down on the << and >> buttons instead of using the slider. As far as using a png for the volume background...I look into it.

"you could modify the playpause button's mask to make it not interfere with the slider":
Well no! we want to keep the LARGE play buttons intact!

"As far as using a png for the volume background...I look into it":
That's a good news! Thanks. :)
