How do I remove the word "The" from all tags for artist?
I would like to eliminate the word "The" from so many artists' tags. Instead of having to look up "The Beatles" I would like this artist to be
listed under "Beatles".
Does anyone have a good way to easily do this?

Short term solution is to use a tagging programme. I use mp3tag studio - which is by far the most powerful tagging program out there (ignore anyone
that tells you otherwise ). With the program it would take about 10
seconds to get the programme stripping the tags as you request.
Long term is that you leave the tags as they are (The Beatles are, after all called The Beatles) and instead change the interface - in this case
eJukebox. I think there was talk of Audiosoft changing the interface so that The Beatles are listed under B not T - so send them a postcard with a
pleading request and who knows what will happen! I for one would be a big advocate of this

This would be fine. However.....
they would have to watch out for the extreme case "The The".
At the moment there is no way to find them using search (as you get every single band with the word "the")

Personnaly i tag The Beatles like this: "Beatles, The". But like you ochristmas, i would prefer that eJukebox detect the word "The" in artists
names...
And also the words: "Les", "Le", "La" and "L' " for the French artists!

Surely MTownley you would search for "helpline" and then click on "The The" from the (I presume) only result that comes back - thats if youve got
their best album

I removed all the "the's" from my artists. People don't use the search much, they like to look for their artisits. I just chose a "the" artist
and rename artist from the editor. It doesn't take too long.

Another tangent to this thread is when an artist releases their first album by the same name as the group/artist name. If this album name gets tagged
as 'The Album' ej gets confused as to which cover art to use as several artists will share the same 'The Album' name for their first release CD's
