Previewing outside the editor

What do you think about to extend the preview function outside the editor?
That could be available from the right click menu in the songlist and also in the playlist. You could simply add 2 lines in the right click menus: Preview Play/Pause and Stop.
I think that cannot be to difficult to do since the preview mode is already functional from the editor panel, simply that would be more handy.

Another way to do this could be to have an AUTOMATIC PREVIEW function activated by a right click on the Play Now icon of the songlist. The Automatic Preview should do:
Open the song for Preview in Media Player -> skip the intro (the first 30 seconds) -> Pause Winamp -> Play 8 seconds of the previewed song -> Play Winamp.

I have seen this function in another jukebox and it's cool!
Tell me what you think?

Hey guys: How can you continue to live without this feature in eJukebox!?

I'm patient... :D Maybe a "Instant Preview" feature will be added some year.. 2007 ?? :)

eJukebox would be turned in a impressive SOUND showcase, obeying your's every whim! What enjoyment! :P

Thanks.

Pirk I have often thought of this too, but a different appraoch. I don't know if this is posiible at all and actually might require 2 sound cards. What if you could preview songs through a pair of headphones connected to the PC and not interrupt the song playing through your main speakers. This way you don't interrupt the playing song if you are having a party and people are trying to find a songs. They just hear a clip of the song and can decide if its what they are looking for.

One thing that I still would really like to see in eJukebox is the ability to search the lyrics field of the tags through the search box so you can find a song by a phrase from it. Hopefully Audiosoft will find time to implement some of these idea in the future!

Thanks for your support rllercstr7!

I agree, a prelistening function on headphones could be very interesting too for parties, if you have 2 soundcards.

My initial vision come from another jukebox program which haved a "Instant Preview" feature. While you are listening your music you can launch a short preview of any other song in the jukebox. But I can't remember the name of this jukebox.. That was in 2003!

Hopefully that Audiosoft finally consider our greed for a more "sensual" prelistening feature than using the song editor... :o
