Can we start from the beginning?
Can someone please help with the question that was posted in the web section? thanks
I admit it, I have no clue how to set up my pc to be a web server. I'm running both Windows 2000 and XP Home, on 2 different pc's. How do I
set either one of them up to be a web server, then, what do I need to do from there. I would prefer to set it up on the XP pc.

Here's what I posted as a reply in the web section:

with XP Professional (not sure about XP Home). Using IIS successfully is beyond what I can offer here.
Just in case you're thinking that you need a web server to use eJukebox2web, you don't. It has a 'built-in' web server when you
activate that option. You simply use the default port '80' and point your browser to the ip address or name of the machine it's on.
(ex: http://192.168.2.1, or http://anyuser.dyndns.org).
If you are using a software or hardware based firewall (or both), you'll have to configure them to allow outside traffic on port 80 to enter your
network. Again, due to the variety of personal firewall products, there's no way I can cover the specifics here.

Thanks for the reply.
I thought I would make it further than this with your instruction  When I
download the program you mentioned and double click on it -- it doesn't do much. It shows up in the running processes when you press
control-alt-delete but doesn't go through an install process, doesn't show up in the system tray, doesn't ask for any options, etc.
I must be missing something. Further help is appreciated.
Remember I am a novice when it comes to "running a server".

Before we go too far with this, what is it you want to do with your web server? I only ask because the answer will help me point you in the right
direction.

Great question!
I am trying to be able to access my songs from other computers that can connect to the internet. -- mainly at work.
Right now, I can get other computers within my home network to play through the audiosoft web2.0 interface when i type in the "remote link"
ip address into the other computer's web broswer. It doesn't work for computer's outside my home network.
That's the issue (probably easy to solve).

Ok, I still need just a little more clarification:
1. Do you want to control what music is played at home from work (not listening to the music at work, just selecting the songs through the
eJukebox2web, they still play at home).
2. Do you want to listen to your home music collection at work by choosing songs with the eJukebox2web interface?

I am trying to listen to music at work that is on my home computer (that has ejukebox on it).

Follow the link that Audiosoft provided on getting eJukebox2web working outside your home network.
To actually hear your home collection at work, you can set up a ShoutCast server. ShoutCast has a website that provides downloads and documentation
to get you started:

Is there anyway I can see the webpage that i can see on the local connection (the webpage the ejukebox creates) so I can change and pick the songs
from work?

If you also run a Shoutcast server, you can then listen to music from work.
