Case fixing options
Could you add the same case fixing option when you add new songs to eJukebox from the special menu than from the update database function?
Yesterday, I've added 1Go of mp3s using the special menu and eJukebox performed case fixing on all my french albums for which I don't want
the first letter of each word be capitalized...
Similarly, when I add new songs to eJukebox from the CD Ripper I would like to be able to disable case fixing.
Thanks.

How about we just make casefixing automatically disabled for the title, artist, album when a word does not start with a regular A..Z character.
Keep in mind we have made the casefixing better in v3.3 by making it capitalize the first letter after every non-letter (not just after every space),
except for after ' commas.

Well, I'm happy you have improved the case fixing for some combinations of letters and others non alphabetical prints in v3.3.
Thanks for that!
But the reason I ask for disable the case fixing is because when I add any french album (using the CD RIPPER or the "Add new songs to
eJukebox" of the special menu), as the french norm is to put in capitals the first letter of ONLY THE FIRST WORD OF EACH SENTENCE excepted for
the proper names, I expect this result:
Artist: Flying Tractors
Album: Vaca dolorosa
Titles:
La marche des tracteurs
Perdu de vue
Dimitri et Aljoschka
Céréales killer
Aménagement de territoire
Déménagement de territoire
Vaca dolorosa
La polka de la lentille
Kibboutz
Le chauffeur de car
Massilia
Allons au verger, Simone
L'homme à la moto
Quel temps fait-il à Clermont-Fd?
And more often this "CORRECT" case fixing is already done just after the CDDB lookup...but as currently I can't prevent the
"english" case fixing be automatically performed when files are added to the database, I get this "wrong" result in the eJukebox
Songlists:
Artist: Flying Tractors
Album: Vaca Dolorosa
Titles:
La Marche Des Tracteurs
Perdu De Vue
Dimitri Et Aljoschka
Céréales Killer
Aménagement De Territoire
Déménagement De Territoire
Vaca Dolorosa
La Polka De La Lentille
Kibboutz
Le Chauffeur De Car
Massilia
Allons Au Verger, Simone
L'Homme A La Moto
Quel Temps Fait-Il A Clermont-Fd?
Of course I like this way for all english albums but NOT for albums in french!
However, I don't ask to you to program a way specific for me and my french albums...although I thing that would not be too hard to do .
I only want an option to simply disable the case fixing when necessary, like it's already possible using the database update menu.
So, that would be GREAT if I could also disable the case fixing when I add new songs to the database FROM THE CD RIPPER (and from the special menu
too).
Do you understand what I mean?
Otherwize, concerning your idea to make casefixing automatically disabled for the title, artist, album when a word does not start with a regular A..Z
character, I don't understand what you mean precisely. Give me some examples where that could be applied.
Thanks.

Hello Audiosoft,
Is there any chance you add an option to disable the case fixing when a CD is imported using the CD Ripper?
Unless, in order to do the things complete, you prefer add an option to choose between "Capitalize each word", "Capitalize only the
first word" or "Disable case fixing". This option could be usable whatever way chose for import new songs (Hard drive scanning or
direct CD ripping).
Can you tell us how you feel the things?
Thanks.

Audiosoft,
Is there something new planned for eJukebox v3.3 concerning the case fixing issue with the CD Ripper?
I hope you understand what I would like:
- Either (at least, please...) a checkbox to disable any case alteration when I start to rip a CD.
- Or an option to select case fixing between: Capitalize each word, Sentence case (capitalize only the first word of each song title) or completely
disable case fixing.
Of course, the best would be to have a new item (maybe called "Edit" ) added to the main menu bar of the CD Ripper with several case choices
applicable directely to the selected songs:
- UPPER CASE
- lower case
- Sentence case
- Capitalize
In this way it would be possible to see the result immediately and possibly fixe any unexpected result BEFORE the CD had been ripped...
But if you think it's to complex to program, please add only a checkbox to disable case fixing when mp3s are created, and so simply respect what
it is displayed in the CD Ripper songlist...
Thanks.

I would rather it not auto casefix. I have taken a lot of time retagging my MP3s because of case fixing errors.

The casefixing in v3.3 is much much better at dealing with English words with punctuation and no casefixing will be done on words that contain any of
these characters:

OK Audiosoft, I have no doubt the casefixing will be greatly improved in v3.3... with the English language. And I am totally sure that will be
absolutely perfect for all my ENGLISH ALBUMS...
I guess you have spend a lot of time to improve this feature and you can be sure I RESPECT your work.
Thank you very much for that!
But that still won't do nicely at all for any of my FRENCH ALBUMS. Even if it seems you have planned some cases where no case fixing will be
applied... What are these very strange characters you list: ¿ąƇȉʋ̍ΏБғԕؙ֗ڛܝޟࡢ㤥槨骫쭮ﰱ--Begin Template:
viewthread_post_sig -->? ...That won't be fitted for the french language. Simply because in french we NEVER Put a Capital Letter On Each Word
Of a Sentence. We only put 1 capital letter on the first word of each sentence. That is called "Sentence case".
I don't want annoy you too much with this. I understand that's not a priority for you because french and some other languages are singulars
for you americans. So, if you don't want to put an option for do this, don't worry about it...
I just would like a way to prevent my french CDs appear in eJukebox as if they were in english!. That would be a shame if after all the hope I have put in your now GREAT CD Ripper, I can't use it because
it only miss a small option. I assure you, french sentences with some capitals on each word... that is not nice at all!
So please, by respect for the french language (and also I think any other "non-english" language like German...) or if maybe you don't
give a toss(!) simply for me, Pirk your worshipper! Put an option to disable
English case fixing WHEN A CD IS NOT IN ENGLISH !!! and like this respect the original language.
That's logical, no?
And I think that won't take anything away from your great english case fixing for all the CDs in English!
I hope you understand the meaning of my request.
Thank you very much.

I wanted to point out again that when you import mp3s it changes any "V" following a "I" to uppercase, ie
Poison IVy.
(Roman Numerals?)
Thanks

Will the option not to casefix be there? I hate it when "NWA" becomes "Nwa".

There is already the option not to casefix, but it is only available when you update your database from the menu "Options/Playlist".
Unfortunately, if you use the special menu to add songs this option is lacking. Why?
I hope that will be fixed on the next version like for the CD Ripper (Thanks a lot for that ). Because I think each one must be able to choose what option is more adapted according to his own preferences
(sometimes in particular because of foreign languages...) and also if he have already spend a lot of time to fixe his tags. Mp3s are too precious to
be altered if we don't wish! In this case if that occur it's very irritating and so frustrating after a long editing work...
However automatic casefix feature can be nevertheless very interesting for users who haven't their tags up to date at all, providing them a great
appearance in eJukebox at once. In this case that's a must! But simply I think that shouldn't be imposed all the time.
I think the important thing is to have the choice. In this way, each one will find his happiness in eJukebox. And everyone will says: "eJukebox
is great!"
Furthermore, I think this is a good commercial philosophy, no?
What you think Audiosoft?
Thanks.
