Please help with popularity mode problem.
Sometimes I just let the playlist run out and popularity mode takes over. I had settings: hybrid on, play from 0 stars rating to 100 and pick count
0-100 so that it would choose randomly from my entire song collection (thousands of mp3s).
Suddenly, with out my changing pop settings, it will only choose David Bowie songs. I looked at the David Bowie songs in "edit song" window and
found most with 90-100 star rating. I didn't set these ratings and haven't set any ratings for any songs.
I went into the pop mode settings and tried all kinds of differents setting. No change- it's all David Bowie! Now I don't know for sure what my
original settings were.
So... What pop mode settings will choose from all songs?
and... is there a way to globally reset star ratings to 0?
Much obliged,
Oakland Kevin

Hi there, Welcome to the community!
I have also noticed that sometimes popularity mode can do wierd things no matter what you tell it to do and doesn't seem to be random at all. You may
want to give the AutoListbuilder a try instead. It is located under the tools tab in eJukebox and should do what you described. Hopefully that fixes
your problem.
Star ratings are stored in the eJukebox database, so if you delete the file ejuke.asn in the ejukebox installation it should wipe the ratings. You
will then have to rebuild the database when you start eJukebox.
Also what happens if you click on the custom mode tab under play modes and put in "play songs where: Genre=(one of your genres)" then in the next
fill in part "Not Artist=David Bowie" Click the box at the bottom to filter against the popularity settings and see if it still plays all David
Bowie. Hopefully not! Good luck.

Autolist builder doesn't support autoplay modes yet. Star ratings are stored in tags, so deleting the database won't help much.

Fishy I was always under the impression that the ratings were only stored in the database. Did Audiosoft change that recently. As far as the
autolistbuilder goes I just meant that it will build a list of random songs as Kevin stated that was what he was trying to accomplish.

If the ratings were stored in the database you would lose them every time you did a rebuild, which is not the case. At least not for regular mp3's. I
think audiosoft has created an own asn tag field where ratings are located. I think it has been like that for quite a while.
Ah I see. Can't wait until it can be used for autoplay though :b
