I love this new mode! Brilliant... just played around with it for a few minutes yet. But i got some strange results some times.
When i list the "Blues" genre, for instance; Vangelis' "Blade Runner" album appears for no good reason what so ever.
I checked and triplechecked the tags.... they were all in the "Electronica" genre (i know, they could have been in "Soundtrack" or
"Synth symphonica" or whatever, but that's not the point...
Any thoughts on why this would happen?
By the way, i saw it also lists albums with "blues" in the name. Not a good thing, since it snaps up "Joy and Blues" by Ziggy
Marley & The Melody Makers, definately a reggae album. All of my Eels albums are also displayed, since all contain a song or two with
"blues" in the songname... yet none of these belong in the blues genre.
Ahh.. what's the world coming to? Confusion and disinformation everywhere...
Oh yes, I also love this new mode!
That can lighten my albumlist according to my mood and the circumstances...
I would like this feature be more developped, allowing the user to combine genres and years... you know... i haved already requested that...
Any news on this? I still don't use this function that often, but i think it has a bit to do with the problem i mention... there are too many
"false" albums appearing, just because the artist has a song with the same word as the genre, or even only a part of the word in it...
When i select the "punk" genre, Simon and Garfunkle's "Bookends" turns up... (it has a song named Punky's Dilemma.) This
is very amusing... but perhaps not in the long run.
I had this problem too.. both on the software interface and the web interface. The software seems to be checking all of the ID3 tags, rather than just the specific "Genre" or "Year" tags.. which sometimes is helpful, but often gives the wrong results.
