Album Images Come Back Blank??
shrip - 9-4-2003 at 04:57 PM

I've recently added some new songs to my db. When I use the edit song, and then use the look up album/image, it finds the album name fine, but there is no image. It either comes back black or white. Any clues?? Thx!

This has happened to me a couple of time also. Usually it's because eJukebox cannot detect an intenet connection. I have an "always on" cable modem connection, so not being connected isn't really the issue.

If you want to verify this behavior, go into the "Albums" options and click on "Look up missing cover images". If you get a pop-up error that says "You Must be Connected to The Internet to Find Missing Album Cover Images. Connect to the Net and Try Again!", then you are experiencing the same problem.

To remedy this, I've had to exit eJukebox and re-open it, or at times, even reboot my PC.

Good Luck,
Rich

I went to Albums and clicked Look Up Missing Album Covers, and it gave me the error, and I resolved that. But when a song comes up in the playlist that doesn't have a cover it doesn't attempt to look it up. Also, when I manually go to edit, and click the button to look up it doesn't say "No Album Found" it just returns black or white. I have an always on connection to the Internet. It seems as though eJ doesn't think I'm connected. Any suggestions again?

Actually, I still get the "not connected to internet" error when I click on the look up album covers button in Album options. eJ connects etc when I click the info button in the edit mode, but won't return any images for the album cover.

Make sure you have the artist and title (or artist and album if you select the 2nd option) spelled correctly in the editor when you do the lookup or it will not be able to find an album/cover image. Also, if you have things in (...) in the fields you should remove these...do the lookup...then add the (...) back.

If an album image is still not found for a song we recommend that you click the album INFO button on the editor so that you can navigate to the cover image on allmusic guide. Then right click the image and copy its url location. Click "Use Image from..." on the editor...paste the url image location in the Internet field and click Go. This will permanetly encode/store the image itself into the mp3 file.

Also, are you using a Proxy Server to connect to the internet?

No, I'm not using a proxy. I have a local firewall software on my computer, but have always had it since I've been using eJ and had no problems. The artist are all spelled correctly and there are no odd characters either. I will try your suggestion and see how things pan out. Thanks for the response!
