Every time the next song starts, Ejukebox hangs and shows as "not responding" for between 2 mins and 2 mins 30. obviosuly this makes it a pain in
the butt for choosing new songs or messing with the play list.
all other apps on the pc run ok while jukebox is "not responding"
I hadn't updated for a while and jumped from (i think) v4.99 beta 23 to this one. 4.99 beta 23 was fine with no problem at all.
I am using windows vista premium with 4gb of ram and a Phenom quad core 9500 processor.
i have also tried restarting the pc a few times also, but no diffirence
For Vista try adding the attached file to your eJukebox folder. Then run ejukebox.exe and see if that helps.
Same problem I'm afraid.
the album cover changed, and the song plays ok, the song timer got to 3 seconds, then Ejukebox hung again and then became active with timer jumping to
2:10. so the hang time was 2mins 7 this time.
did that manifest file make it ask for admin rights? if not try right clicking eJukebox and 'run as administrator'
also does this happen only when using with winamp or also when internal player for audio?
no it didn't, but my system is set up to always run all apps as admin. I got fed up being prompted every time i tried to do anything. I am using winamp. I don't use the internal media player as I use the cross fader plug in.
Just to make sure i tried right clicking and "running as admin" but same issue occured.
try enabling windows media player (internal) on the green Sound tab and let me know if you have the same issue...that way i will know if this problem is related to winamp communication
Switched to media player, but same issue happens.
Is your 2Web site FTP feature disabled?
also does this also happen after an autoplay song starts playing or only when you pick the song?
I have ejukebox lite, so i don't have the 2web feature. This happens for any song change, no matter if i chose it or if its auto play.
are your media files on a network drive letter?
also how many files in your db and does this also happen after playing non-mp3s?
all media files are stored on the pc - no files are shared across the network.
Files in the db - circa 28,000.
I only have MP3 files so I don't have any other types to try I'm afraid.
are the mp3s read-only?
no, they have full read/write access.
fixed a bug in the area. not sure might have been causing the problem. Please give v4.99.50 a try and let me know
Sorry, still the same.

for info when EJ hangs, task manager shows that it is not using any CPU and 166,836KB of memory. Still loads of memory and CPU available.
I deleted my .ini file and forced EJ to recreate it. working fine now. thanks for taking the time to look into this!
