4.63 to 4.65 fails
crlove - 6-1-2007 at 09:44 PM

I've let the auto dowload try to update from 4.63 to 4.65 and it said it completed but needed a reboot due to open files. When it came up it was 4.63 and wanted to download 4.65. I canceled the download the stopped ejukebox 4.63 and manually downloaded 4.65 upgrade and tried to install it. It also said there were open files so I rebooted as it said. It came backup I started ejukebox it reported it was 4.63 and wanted to download 4.65. I'm caught in a loop.

I'm able to run ejukebox if I cancel the download it comes and works as a 4.63 version so there no big crisis. I was so impressed with the speed of 4.63 and so I just jumped on 4.65 when it poped up.

Try this:

Download eJukebox 4.65 Upgrade
Shutdown eJukebox
Make sure ejukebox.exe is not running in windows taskmanager.
Run the 4.65 Upgrade exe (if you are on Vista, right click and Run as Admin)
Ignore/Cancel the restart message and run eJukebox

Seems after the upgrade from 4.63 to 4.65 I have issues with the eJukebox seeming to hang when using the 2Web v2.6 function. It seems to happen alot when searching and picking songs in 2Web. I have to kill eJukebox and restart it to get anything to play. Could you post a link to the 4.63 ejukebox.exe? If I go back to 4.63 I can see if 4.65 is my issue or if I'm having a differant issue unrealated to the new exe.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I found and have corrected a bug with the 2web image processing. Give this update a try.

Shutdown eJukebox and save the attached file and replace it over the old C:Program FileseJukeboxejukebox.exe.

Your patch did seem to fix the complete hanging of the eJukebox program but the search still takes a long time 10 to 15 minutes and sometimes doesn't change the previous search results screen after it finishes.
One thing I noticed if I'm searching for something in a large jukebox database via 2Web the PF usage can get as high as 1.48GB and eJukebox up to 600+ MB of mem. I'm running it on a laptop with 768 MB of ram so part of the issue is all the mem swapping. I'm trying a 4GB thumb drive for PF usage that helps a bit. Could the search be made a little less memory intensive or efficient?

It would appear that any search either thru 2Web or the search button on the eJukebox screen get the results mentioned above lots of memory usage. It progressivelly ramps up then will slowly release around 1.4+ GB going down slowly to around 800 mb then drops back quickly to normal around 300mb. My eJukebox ASN is 1.3Gb and m3u is 8.6 MB.
