When I selected the option to use Media player instead of winamp (Just wanted to see how it was) E-Jukebox Crashed with an "Enexpected Error" I was
then unable to reload E-Jukebox as I kept getting the same crash as the splash screen was loading.
After a few attempts and a bit of panic, I decided to delete the Ejukebox.ini file so it would lose its setting and go back to default. this worked
and E-jukebox loaded, but it looks like I can't use Media player for the internal music.
Win XP Pro SP1
Media Player 10
built in audio + graphics (can find out make etc. if need be)
Any suggestions as to what caused this?
(I know you will probably say to go to SP2, but SP2 conflicts with other software I have on my PC and causes it to crash so thats not an option.
this isn't really a biggy for me now that I know how to get round it and I am happy enough to use Winamp as I usually do, but there may be others at
some point who are not as easy with this.
Thanks for posting about out this issue. I thought eJukebox 4.5 would work with WMP 9 and 10 but it may currently need WMP 11.
If anyone else has WMP 9 or 10 installed: please right click the songlist play icon and report back if eJukebox 4.5 crashes or displays the preview.
Thank you for your help.
Hopefully, I will be able to get it to work with WMP 9/10 but if not I will at least update eJukebox so that it only saves the playback setting as
windows media player if it does not crash.
The immediate fix is to use winamp or install Windows Media Player 11 : http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/download/download.aspx
I am happy to keep using Winamp, as Media player 11 will only work with SP2.
Well_Jaggy,
OK... well since the original idea of using Windows Media Player internally was to have eJukebox work out of the box without needing to install winamp
or a new WMP version...I have updated the internal player to work with WMP 6.4 or later. That way it should work on fresh 2K, XP, and Vista installs.
Please let me know if using the internal player works for you after upgrading to 4.52!
Shutdown eJukebox and Click Here to Upgrade to
4.52
OK, well I shut down E-Jukebox, upgraded to 4.52. opened it up, changed to Media Player and it didn't crash, Winamp closed... so far so good I
thought.
Went to my album list, and as soon as I selected a song it crashed.
I reloaded E-Jukebox, selected a song again, and this time the song went into the playlist, and played ok.
So things seem ok now, but strange that it crashed the first time!
To be honest though, I think I am just going to go back to Winamp as I have a crossfader plug in that I use with it that I cant find for Media
player.
Good work in resolving this problem though
