Empty albums upon first view only
kfeDaddy2k - 6-1-2003 at 09:02 PM

I mentioned this before, but have yet to get any response from anyone on it yet.

Since somwhere around the version 3.0 beta, whenever I first start up eJukebox and click on the Album tab and then open any album, it is empty, no songs at all. I can then click the back arrow, then open the same album (or any other for that matter) and all the songs are then just as they should be. I noticed while doing some ID3 clean-ups that it happens after each time the album view is "refreshed". The first album opened is always empty, but everything from then on is fine.

It is starting to get pretty annoying, especially when showing off my new system to friends, when I have to open an album, click back, then open it back up to get to the songs.

I regestered at version 3.11, and version 3.12 and 3.18 have not corrected the problem. Is anyone else having this problem? Would a re-install of the product fix the issue? If I re-install, will I loose all the database "tweaking" I've done since I originally installed, or can it all be "imported" back in easily? I assume that getting a new registration code will not be a major problem should I decide to re-install, correct?

Thanks,
Kurt

You are right Kurt,
I have noticed the same thing, but I don't think that a reinstall will fix the issue. Nevertheless if you want to try that, I think the database and the registration should not be lost after uninstall.
I think this problem is probably a little bug inside the program.
So Audiosoft, if you read this, there is another job for you!

Thanks,
Pirk

Quick update on the problem.

I was playing around with settings the other day and I noticed that if I turned on "Album Cover as Background" in Album mode, that I did not have the problem with "No song titles the fiirst time I open an album".

So I now leave the album cover as the background, and everything works fine, every time.

So that's right?
The "Album cover as Background" function is turned off on my system! I'll try to turn on to see if that fix the problem for me too...

Thank you Kurt

You are right Kurt,
Since I have turned on "Album Covers as Background", that's OK on my system too!

So Audiosoft,
If you want to reproduce the bug on your system:
- Turn off the "Tile Album Images as Background in Songlist" option
- Close eJukebox
- Re-open it
- Click on Albums Tab
- Click on any Album cover
--> No song will be displayed in the songlist.

That occur only once, but all times eJ start!

Thanks.
