Being popular without deserving it

I've actually discovered this a pretty long time ago, but haven't posted about it because I thought someone else would. But since everyone are quiet about it.. :)

I have noticed when you choose "Month" "Week" or last "24 hours" in the homeview ejukebox show songs and albums which have a high overall pick count, but has not neccecarily been picked in for example the last 24 hours. Say that I for example have played the album "Led Zeppelin - I" a lot of times. If it is chosen in a autoplay mode during the last 24 hours, ejukebox shows it when I choose "last 24" in the homeview. From my point of view this function should illustrate songs and albums picked intentionally the last 24 hours, not albums with a high accumulated pick count which have been unintentionally picked by for example autoplay modes the last 24 hours. This problem also goes for month and week. I don't know whether there are other aspects of popularity ratings that are affected by this as well, but I sure would like to see it fixed :)

You are right Fishy, I let you to push this malfunction..
Note than if a passive user uses eJukebox in Autoplay mode during several days or weeks, then with your "100% intentional" method the charts would never change, or even would show nothing. But I agree that a random chart is not representative of anything apart from a "Ejukebox Auto-chart"! :)

Exactly! I usually let ejukebox run in the background in some auto playmode (the computer is running 24/7) with the sound turned off when I am not in the flat or wants silence. Hence, the charts say little or nothing about my actual listening habits. If I had played nothing during the last 24 hours it should display nothing in the top 10 for the last 24 h. Most of the time that will not be the case for "month", as most of us adds something to the playlist during 30 days? :) I think these displays should be set so they reflect real intentional pick counts during the respective periods of time.

I totally agree. At worse it could exist a separate "auto-chart" option in the 24 days-weeks-month menu.. but in everyday use, that should be exclusively "real intentional pick counts".
Well the "auto-chart" mode can be at least representative of what you have selected in the Autolist Builder..

Which often means random picks from the entire collection of songs :)

Yeah, the famous eJukeboxTV chart! :D Mine is still a bit Norvegian on the borders..
