3.994 freezing
Well_Jaggy - 3-21-2006 at 08:06 PM

I have been using 3.994 for a while now with no real issues. I have just spent the last couple of days re-organising the albums on my hard drive, which involved A LOT of moving files / folders to diffirent locations and adding a number of new tracks. Once I completed this, I started E-Jukebox. The splash screen comes up and the blue progress bar starts to move along. it gets to about 3/4 of the way across then stops. I left it like this for about two hours then rebooted the PC and tried again. I then left it like that for 28 hours (!) but still no movement. I dont want to un-install - re install as the pc it is on is not connected to the internet, so I cant use the new registration feature.

Any help?

P.S I dont want to move to a higher version either as I dont want the compilation albums to be at the bottom of my list (!)

PPS - Win XP, Pentium P4, 512 meg ram, and no other apps / manually started services running.

I think eJukebox try to play your music files but it can't find them since you have moved them.. Don't worry about it, you just need to force eJ to rebuild the database. But the "looked up" images will be lost.

1) Start your PC, but don't start eJukebox.
2) Delete these 2 files: C:Program FileseJukeboxejuke.asn and C:Program FileseJukeboxdb.m3u. (ejuke.asn is a hidden file by default, so you first need to set your PC in order it show the hidden files)
3) Start eJukebox. It will detect a "database corruption error..." and it will lead you to rebuild a new database. You will just need to indicate the new location of your music files.

PS: I the next eJukebox version, you will have the choice for the compilations: At start or at end!

removing thse files seem to have done the trick - the database is re-loading now - I also downloaded the 3.998.0.1 beta, and i will report back once the database has built and i have had a chance to look at it!

Thanks again for your help!!
