So my latest eJ upgrade led to an interesting situation. Within a day of my upgrade my database became corrupted and I had to rebuild it from scratch.

But that's not what I'm here to talk about--it's just the reason I came across what I'd like to request (in fact, I'm going to start aggressively backing up my eJ files because of this). Since a lot of the information I THOUGHT had been in my MP3 tags turned out not to be (does "set all" really write to every MP3 file affected, or just to the database entry for each file?), I've had to do a LOT of reinputting and editing.

One thing I've been reminded of is how irritating the "Set All" feature for Genres can be. Why specifically the Genres "Set All"? Because it seems to reguard songs in Compilations as part of this. The "Set All" button for Genres changes the genre of songs that are marked as soundtracks and other songs which are part of compilations along with all of the other songs by an artist, and in my opinion... it really shouldn't.

At the very least it should NOT change genres previously marked as "Soundtrack"--it should just skip over them. Why would there even be a Soundtrack genre if it wasn't supposed to be used this way? Even Henry Mancini doesn't work exclusively in the "Soundtrack" genre... so when would it ever make sense to treat it like other genres. Not to mention the irratation factor of having to go BACK to every Soundtrack cut and set them back...

But that's really an alternate method. It might just make more sense to treat ALL compilations as seperate from an artists normal work.

Is this just me who has a problem with this?
