I posted this in requested features with no response.

When I first start eJ, then click "artists" the black box with the alpha list of artist used to fly out so I could pick an artist to sort by. For the last several updates back to 2.99 when I click "artists" you can see the black artist list come out for a fraction of a second and then close. You need to also click the > to get it to open and stay. If you don't click the > you get all the artists with the chosen letter.

Was this change done on purpose or is mine broken? It happens on two different machines.

This was done on purpose. However, since you are unhappy with the change others may be as well so we will change it back so it works like it did before in the next version.

Wow. Such power. I would be interested on why you changed. To me it just adds a click every time you want the Artists list. Maybe you think it works better the other way? Anyway thanks. And my newbies thank you. Early hardware would make say an artist req. for "t" on my "large" amount of mp3s take a long time. Not so bad now. I can't think of why I would want to search on "t".
