hello,
I discovered Ejukebox 10 days ago. It's a great software for me and now I consider to buy it.
The only thing that makes me a little bit unsure is the method of registration.
Is it rigtht, that I always need a new Registrationnr after installing Windows new? (I really do this a lot of times!!!)?
Is there a Possibility to backup the settings of Ejukebox (Rating, Top albums etc.)?
thanks
flummi
Welcome flummi!
As much as you don't format your hard-drive if you simply reinstal Windows over the previous instal, registration will not be lost. And even if
you format Audiosoft will give you quickly a new registration number.
I believe that a new registration system is planned to prevente that.
All the song statistics (ratings and popularity count) are stored inside the mp3s. So no need to backup.
That's magic, but even if you re-create a new database you recover all your song settings intact!
Thanks Pirk for your answer.
I don't like the reeinstalling option of Windows. I always format the partition before installing. I really hope there will be another method of
Registration in the future (it's a better feeling for me to be independant of sending and receiving emails).
The storing of the informations in the mp3 is great. I wondered about the method and now it's clear for me. Thank you for the information!
Another Question:
Ejukebox does really often dial up to the internet (My firewall says so).
Can I be sure that Ejukebox will not send informations of my pc to any place?
And I hope my english isn't too bad (I've been out of school for 20 Years and I forgot a lot)
If you haven't disabled "Automatic album Cover Lookup" in the options menu at the bottom of the player then the first time eJukebox
play any song without an image, it try to find one at allmusic.com... There is(N'T ) any spyware in eJukebox!
Just one thing concerning images and eJukebox:
These looked up are stored in the database file (ejuke.asn) ONLY.
If you want they be stored in the mp3s you need to browse manually a local image for each album using the editor, or each time you rip a CD. I do like
this.
Otherwise your english seem to be well enough good for me. But we should ask that to our American friends, rather!

thanks for the answers.
My album pictures are already stored in the mp3 ( I use Mp3Ext for this).
Good to know that there isn't any spyware.
O.k. I think I will buy Ejukebox (first in the 'small' version. Is there a way to upgrade later?)
thanks a lot
flummi
Of course, I mean: "There ISN'T any spyware in eJukebox"
Thanks for the correction Brandir
Concerning the way to upgrade from small version: I don't know. But I think it's probably possible.
I'd have to agree with flummi, I would rather just be able to reinstall my own software that I have bought without having to send, wait for reply, and receive emails...no matter how fast the turn around time is. I'm a computer geek and I too often format and reinstall my computers.
