question about covers being displayed
amame - 4-20-2006 at 02:24 AM

All of my coverart is named after the album it represents as was required by the 1st jukebox I used years ago.

Is there a way to get EJukebox to recognize this?
The strange thing is that it is displaying about 15 of the 230 albums that I have and they are all named this way....so why it chose to ones that it did to display is unknown.

eJukebox can use album art encoded in the mp3 id3 tag or a cover.jpg or folder.jpg image in the albums folder. It will also attempt to automatically lookup art if the artist and title or album name is known.

Allow me to rephrase that question.

My covers are all named the same as the cd they represent (not as cover.jpg or folder.jpg)
Is there a way to use these or will Ihave to rename them all?

Unless Audiosoft makes a new version of eJukebox that allow the user to choose the name(s) used for his album covers - which would satisfy everybody! - , you will have to rename them.

The *.jpg's would have to follow a pattern that matches the song file name or folder name in order for me to be able to update eJukebox to pick them up when the database is built.
For example, I could update it so they get used when the name of the folder the song files are in is = to the name of the *.jpg.

Audiosoft, that was exactly how I named my first albums covers! But that was a few years ago... :D
The only problem with this method is that can produce some too long file names which are truncated if you backup your mp3s on CDs! So when you restore your backup some cover names don't match with the album names! So now I prefer to just use cover.jpg... Even if now I don't backup my music neither on CDs, nor on DVD, but on several HDs... :)

That is exactly how mine are.

I have folders for each group and a folder inside each groups folder with the cd name. Inside the individual cd folder is a jpg file of the same name.

amame,

I have updated eJukebox in v3.999 beta 4 so it imports jpg cover art named after the containing folder. You can download beta 4 HERE then Re-build your database via Update Database on the Tools menu to have it use your art.
