EJ Not Doing What Its Told
hussieskunk.com - 12-28-2004 at 10:39 PM

I've always used eJ strictly to read the cover image out of the file playing in WinAmp and spit it out to our website. However, yesterday it stopped doing that. In fact it wants to open its own instance of WinAmp and play the ONE song it has loaded into its playlist. All I want it to do is read the cover image like it always has. Now all of a sudden (after a crash) it doesn't do what it has been doing for two years. Has anyone else seen this problem? Is there a solution?

Make sure you have disabled eJukebox's playmodes so that Winamp controls what songs get played. Open eJukebox options panel and click the currently selected playmode on the options panel to deselect it so that no playmode is selected.

I tried that, and its not responding. It still has one song stuck in the window. It doesn't even recognize the WinAmp that is currently playing. In fact, I closed eJ and restarted it, hoping that the 'no play mode' would take... But when I restart eJ, once again it wants to open its own instance of WinAmp. It doesn't even recognize that there is music playing! Anything else I could try?

Try this:
First check the windows taskmanager and make sure there are no instances of winamp.exe running. Now Startup up the version of Winamp that you want to use with eJukebox and make it start playing a song. Then start up eJukebox.

Nope. Didn't work. eJ still tries (and succeeds) in opening up its own instance of WinAmp. Its not even seeing the other WinAmp currently playing.
