even though I ripped the disc into Mp3 using ej I still get the artist name starting with the track No. ie. 04 Sheryl Crow

Hmm.. the cd ripper shall get everything it needs of information (albumname, artistname etc) from the net *before* anything is added to the database.. So I am not sure what is going on here.. But my guess is that there probably is something bogus in your tags..

Have you tried using the internal tag editor of ej for some housekeeping?
